As you stroll through the Botanical Garden, be sure to stop and have a look at Stokesia laevis.  Stokes Aster is found in a few spots, primarily in the pollinator garden.  Butterflies love Stokes Aster flowers as do other pollinators.  It is in the daisy family and is native to southeastern U.S.  It is well adapted to high heat and humidity, acidic soils, clay or sandy.   It grows in full sun to part shade and is drought resistant.  July 9, 2017 (Jeanne Pavero)
